About
Built by process engineers, shaped with design partners.
Front End Engineering Consultancy (FEEC) is an independent upstream and midstream engineering consultancy, operating since 2020. ReservoirLedger is its production allocation product: founder-led, backed by FEEC’s process engineering, and being built with one or two design partners.
Why we are building it
Allocation lives in a spreadsheet. The reasoning lives in someone’s head.
Small and mid-size operators usually allocate production in a workbook that has grown over years. It works until the person who maintains it is away, or until a partner asks how a barrel was allocated and the answer is a memory.
The enterprise alternative is real software, but it is priced in six or seven figures and takes six to eighteen months to implement. The gap in the middle is where ReservoirLedger sits: the discipline of a proper allocation system, on the Excel inputs operators already keep, with published pricing and a two-to-four-week onboarding.
FEEC’s process engineers know what sits behind a production number: well tests, meters, flow networks and the conservation of mass across a facility. That is the background the method is written from.
How we work
Four commitments that shape the product.
The method is written first
The accounting method is specified and signed before any engine code is built: the algorithm per phase and node, the conservation rules, the exception policies and the tolerances. The tolerances are set by you and your design partner, not by us.
Allocated volumes feed money
Partner shares and, downstream, revenue depend on the numbers. So the engine is tested against independently computed worked examples, and we never invent a constant that your own rules should supply.
Acceptance is a reconciliation, not a demo
A pilot is accepted when your own closed months are reproduced within the tolerance in the signed method, and your production accountant and FEEC sign the reconciliation report.
The operator stays responsible
The client remains responsible for official volumes, royalty and regulatory submissions. Our outputs are report profiles that you prepare and own.
Design-partner programme
Shape the first release.
We are recruiting one or two design partners to build the first allocation profiles with, starting offshore.
- Who it suits
- An independent or NOC-affiliate operator with 1–10 facilities and up to a few hundred producing wells, with JV partners, allocating monthly in Excel.
- What you get
- a 40% discount on the subscription in year 1, a say in the first release, and the engineers who build it.
- What we ask
- A reference call, a joint write-up, and written permission to use anonymised data from your workbooks as a test fixture.
- Your data
- Anonymised fixtures are used only with the data owner’s written permission. A data processing agreement is signed before any data is shared.
Let's talk
Start with a conversation and a workbook.
Tell us how you allocate today and how long your close takes. We will show you the method and what a pilot on your own closed month would reproduce.
